Miten sinne pääsee

Parhaiten Utöön pääsee bussilla ja yhteysaluksella. Lippu Helsinki-Pärnäinen maksaa opiskelijalle noin 17 euroa. Ensin Turun bussilla Piispanristin pysäkille (ensimmäinen pysäkki Turussa), jossa vaihto Turku-Korppoo-bussiin. Se pysähtyy toisella puolen tietä Prisman edessä. Noin puolentoista tunnin kuluttua bussi in Pärnäisten (Pärnäs) satamassa, siellä odottaa punavalkoinen yhteysalus Eivor. Neljä-viisituntinen matka Eivorilla Utöön on ilmainen. Matkalla Eivor pysähtyy monissa kauniissa saarissa, joissa kannattaa myöhemmin käydä jos on aikaa.

Impilinna löytyy saarelta helposti kun kulkee mukulakivitietä kylän läpi, se on viimeinen talo vasemmalla hautakiven takana. Sopimuksen mukaan edellinen asukas jättää oven auki ja avaimet naulaan.

Mitä siellä on

Talossa on juokseva vesi lämminvesivaraajalla, sähkölämmitys ja internet-yhteys.

Varusteita mm:
Makuuhuone: 120 cm leveä runkopatja, varapatja, tyynyt ja täkit kahdelle
Työhuone/olohuone: pöytä ja kolme tuolia
Keittiö: astiat, ruuanvalmistusvälineistö
Työkalut: vasara, saha, akkuporakone, terä- ja ruuvipääsarja, siivousvälineet

Huomioitavaa

Älä pese pensseleitä lavuaarissa! Saaren vedenpuhdistusjärjestelmää ei ole mitoitettu kestämään öljyvärikuormitusta!

Kauppa on talvisin auki vain tunnin pari päivässä sekä kiinni sunnuntait. Varmista siis aukioloajat tullessasi tai ota mukaan hätävaraa. Kaupan valikoimat ovat monipuoliset joten ruokaa ei juuri tarvitse kantaa mukaan, kasvisproteiinituotteita lukuunottamatta.

Lähtiessäsi sammuta sähköpatterit tai pakkaskaudella käännä ne pienelle peruslämmölle - me maksamme sähkölaskun yhteisesti.

Some tips for residents

How to get there

The easiest way to get to Utö is by bus and ferry. Take the bus to Turku, they leave about every half an hour from Kamppi. Buy a ticket from Helsinki to Pärnäinen (Pärnäs in swedish). You must leave the bus at the first station in Turku called Piispanristi. Walk across the road, there's a bus stop in front of the Prisma market. Take the bus Turku-Korppoo - don't be scared, it drives to the opposite direction for a while. Finally the bus stops at the harbour next to the red-white ferry called M/s Eivor. Board the ferry and there you go. It takes a bit over 2 hours to go from Helsinki to Piispanristi, and maybe an hour and a half with the bus to Pärnäinen. The ferry trip takes something between 4 and 5 hours. The bus costs about 17 euros and the ferry is free.

The house is easy to find, just walk all the way through the village (along the stone road, past the shop) and the house stands there next to a lonely gravestone, near the southern shore. Ask for "Impilinna/Telegrafen" if you get lost. The previous resident ought to have left the door unlocked, the keys hanging inside.

The house & equipment

There's running water with boiler, electric heating and internet connection.

Some furniture and tools:
Bedroom: A bed (120cm wide), an extra mattress, two pillows and blankets
Living/work room: A table and three chairs
Keittiö: Everything you need for cooking and eating
Tools: A hammer, a handsaw, an electric drill, screwdrivers, cleaning equipment etc

Notes

Don't wash brushes under running water or pour waste into the sewer. The sewage and water cleaning system in the island is not capable of handling stuff like oil paint.

The shop in the island is small but well equipped. However keep in mind that during winter it's only open an hour or two a day and closed on Sundays, so take some food along just in case.

Turn off the electric heating when you leave (or in winter period adjust it to a lower setting) - we're paying the bill together.
